Ian Hall
Ian HallDirector of Administration & Financial Services
Ian has served as the Director of Administration and Financial Services since 2016. A native of England, Ian’s first exposure to Indiana was through a pastoral exchange program in 1995. Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University, in South Yorkshire – England in 2000, Ian earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Management. Ian moved to Indiana in the winter of 2001 and has worked in vocational lay ministry within the Indiana United Methodist Church ever since. As Director of Administration and Financial Services for the Indiana Conference, Ian provides general administrative oversight for personnel and human resource services, pension and health benefits along with property management, insurance, IT, and legal concerns. From a financial perspective, he is responsible for the accounting and finance function of the Annual Conference including all aspects of financial management, generosity and stewardship development, and risk management. Ian believes that organizational structure and a streamlined approach to administration are two key aspects of ministries success. Administration can create a firm foundation, that in turn provides the core ministry areas of Connectional Ministries, Church Development, and Leadership Development with the foundation to allow each area to flourish. This, in turn, will support and equip the connection of local congregations, The Conference, to fulfill the Vision, Mission and Wildly Important Goal (WIG) of the United Methodist Churches of Indiana. Ian and his wife Laura are active members of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Indiana where Laura serves as the Director of Family Ministries. Ian is passionate about working alongside Laura with the youth of St. Paul and desires to instill in them a heart for God. Ian enjoys spending time with his two sons, Elliot (10) and Nolan (6). Ian volunteers as a Den leader with his sons Cub Scout pack which allows him to share his love of the great outdoors with his boys and the wider community. An avid hiker Ian recently completed the three-peaks challenge, climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales over a three-day period. In his spare time, Ian enjoys DIY and yard work.

Kathy Mitchell, GPHR, SHRM-SCP
Kathy Mitchell, GPHR, SHRM-SCPAssociate Director - Support Services
Kathy is often asked, “So what do those letters behind your name stand for?” While proud of the Masters-level education she attained, the additional letters stand for how much Kathy cares for people. In the academic world, the GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resource) and SHRM-SCP (Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional) indicate that Kathy has invested much time and energies to an education in employment law, human resources and business management. However, for Kathy, those letters help her to support and care for the Conference’s greatest asset… it’s people. She is most proud to be serving those who have served. Before coming to the Conference in 2016, Kathy spent more than 12 years with an international ministry as their vice president of operations and human resource. The ministry partnered with Bible colleges and seminaries in over 70 different countries. While working with Overseas Council, Kathy was able to travel both internationally and nationally. During that same time frame, Kathy also helped to found Council Business Solutions, an outsourcing resource for human resource and accounting duties for small non-profit ministries. In that organization, she was able to walk alongside many ministry leaders from across the country called to serve the poor, or hungry, or hurting while she and her team cared for the business end of their ministry. Kathy and her husband, Craig, have a beautiful blended family of six adult children and eight grandchildren. Most of their free time is spent with family, enjoying state parks and hiking trails, hosting family dinners every Sunday evening, and spoiling grandchildren at every opportunity.
