About Bishop Julius C. Trimble
Bishop Trimble’s mission statement is “to encourage all people with the love of Jesus Christ to rise to their highest potential” or “Be Encouraged” for short. Bishop Trimble and First Lady Grandberry-Trimble have served in the Indiana Conference since 2016—over 40 years together in ordained ministry.

Areas of Focus
Africa University
As United Methodists, we aim to lead people toward transformation through Jesus Christ. To further this mission, we support Africa University, a mission that is near and dear to Bishop Trimble’s heart. In 2022, he launched a missional challenge to create an endowment fund that will provide scholarships to students at Africa University.
IN Against Racism
As believers, we are called to repent of the sin of racism, both personally and collectively. We must listen, learn, and engage in restorative action. Through the IN Against Racism initiative, Bishop Trimble and the INUMC seek to raise awareness, eliminate racism in the Church, and address concerns that threaten the cause of racial justice.
Children Matter Most
Jesus takes children seriously and harshly warns against harming them. Children are the most vulnerable among us and also the most resilient when they have opportunities to thrive. Because of this belief, Bishop Trimble has convened a group of leaders to focus on the needs of children throughout Indiana.
Bishop’s Christmas Offering
Every year, INUMC churches collect funds for the Bishop’s Christmas Offering. Money raised is distributed to our camping ministries, three Indiana United Methodist-related children and youth homes, national and global Advance projects, and Indiana outreach projects. Outreach projects are selected through a grant application process.
Be Encouraged
This is the place where together we can accomplish the mission to encourage all people with the love of Jesus Christ to rise to their highest potential.

Extension Ministry Reporting
Bishop loves supporting our Extension Ministers, those who have a calling to a ministry beyond the local church to serve a specific ministry or missional need. Those serving in Extension Ministry help do the administration and ministry of the Church in regional or global areas, as well as to better help the Church relate to and serve the world.
