Faith in Allen County: A Chapter of Faith in Indiana

Faith in Allen County was born at a July 2018 public meeting in Fort Wayne. Participating congregations and people of faith work on immigrant inclusion, treatment not incarceration, and creating the conditions for everyone to live healthy lives. Accomplishments include:

  • We secured commitments from the county to invest in treatment.
  • We persuaded lawmakers to remove the lifetime ban on SNAP benefits for people convicted of a drug felony.
  • We joined with others to persuade Governor Eric Holcomb to get rid of punitive Medicaid work requirements.
