COSROW

COSROW (Commission On Status and Role Of Women) was established in 1976 as a standing commission charged with four areas of responsibility: awareness, monitoring, advocacy and empowerment for the participation of women in the total life and mission of the Church. Paragraph 2202 of the Discipline of the United Methodist Church reads: “The Commission On Status and Role Of Women is charged with responsibility to challenge the United Methodist Church, including its general agencies, institutions, and commitment to the full and equal responsibility and participation of women in the total life and mission of the Church, sharing fully in the power and policy making at all levels of the Church’s life.” We who serve on the Commission dream of a world where women and men are freed to become the People of God that each of us was meant to be.
