Church Multiplication Grant and Support Information
Grants are available to Indiana United Methodist Churches to help them launch new congregations, including new campuses, micro-churches or house-churches, relaunch dying churches, vital mergers, and new stand-alone churches.
A. Criteria:
- The church must be a United Methodist Church in Indiana
- The new church has not yet started
- The new church is primarily targeting persons outside the church
- The new church will result in a congregation of at least fifty
- people meeting weekly
B. Amount of Grant:
Up to $75,000 paid out over up to three years
Plus, churches receive six months of training, a $600 value.
C. To apply:
Contact CD@inumc.org. Your new-church planning team will be invited to share your new-church dream with folk from Church Development so that they can determine how to help your dream become a reality.
After this initial consultation, if your idea has potential, your team will be invited to participate in a six-month “Green House” training process to help you develop your launch plan. (There is a $40 participation fee per church team.) Your plan and application at its conclusion will then be considered by the Church Development Committee for funding. Once funded, you will have a coach that will meet with you monthly through the life of the grant.
Your project leader will also be assessed so that they are better prepared to lead the project.
