Tippecanoe County

A campground at this location near Lafayette was an influence on many lives and a center of activity for the Northwest Indiana (M.E.) Conference from the time is was established in 1874 until it was taken over by the Tippecanoe County Historical Association in 1971. The Conference operated a school (Battle Ground Institute) on this site from 1853 to 1874.
