Is your church interested in becoming a Lighthouse Congregation? Lighthouse Congregations are United Methodist Churches that have received training and made a commitment to welcome and provide spiritual care and support for individuals/groups whose churches have closed or disaffiliated. LTH congregations clearly communicate we have “A Place for You.”*
Training for churches seeking to become Lighthouse Congregations will be offered via Zoom. At least one member of the pastoral staff and one lay member in a leadership role must attend a Zoom training session (75 minutes in length). Following the training session, the decision to become a Lighthouse Congregation must be approved by the church’s governing board/council and receive endorsement from the superintendent. Lighthouse training sessions will be held at the following dates and times. You need only attend one session.
Sunday, August 6, 6:00-7:15 p.m. ET
Tuesday, August 8, 6:30-7:45 p.m. ET
Monday, August 21, 7:30-8:45 p.m. ET
Thursday, August 24, 10:00-11:15 a.m. ET
*Lighthouse Congregations are part of the broader conference initiative, A Place for You,
seeking to provide helpful resources and support for those experiencing the hurt and
challenges of disaffiliation.
