Zoom Training for Lighthouse Congregations

Is your church interested in becoming a Lighthouse Congregation? Lighthouse Congregations are United Methodist Churches that have received training and made a commitment to welcome and provide spiritual care and support for individuals/groups whose churches have closed or disaffiliated. LTH congregations clearly communicate we have “A Place for You.”* Training for churches seeking to become Lighthouse Congregations will be offered via Zoom. At least one member of the pastoral staff and one lay member in a leadership role must attend a Zoom training session (75 minutes in length). Following the training session, the decision to become a Lighthouse Congregation must be approved by the church’s governing board/council and receive endorsement from the superintendent. Lighthouse training sessions will be held at the following dates and times. You need only attend one session.  Sunday, August 6, 6:00-7:15 p.m. ET  Tuesday, August 8, 6:30-7:45 p.m. ET  Monday, August 21, 7:30-8:45 p.m. ET  Thursday, August 24, 10:00-11:15 a.m. ET *Lighthouse Congregations are part of the broader conference initiative, A Place for You, seeking to provide helpful resources and support for those experiencing the hurt and challenges of disaffiliation. Fresh Expressions Training Event

Fresh Expressions Training Event September 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (EST) Union Chapel UMC – 2702 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis This training will include all you need to know about Fresh Expressions, and there will be instructions on how to apply for a grant.  This program will also feature components of Dinner Church and Messy Church.  Experts on Dinner Church, Messy Church and other types of Fresh Expressions will be on hand to help you design your own Fresh Expression.
