Northwest District Lay Servant Academy

Classes will take place on Saturday March 28th 10am-5pm & Sunday, March 29th 1pm-5pm

Class Choices:

  • Introduction to Lay Ministry:  The Basic Course – This course is foundational for all courses in lay servant ministries.  Participants are encouraged to discover and employ personal spiritual gifts as God intended and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices,and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.  Instructor:  Pastor Nate Eckert.  Book:  Lay Servant Ministries by Sandy Zeigler Jackson & Brian Jackson DR627*978-0-88177-626-3.   • Leading Worship (required for Certified Lay Speaker).  This course focuses on the ministry of the lay servant who either regularly or occasionally leads a group or congregation in worship.  Instructor:  Rev.   • Aging and Ministry in the 21st Century – This is a practical guide for building ministry for older adults.  Instructor:  Pastor Brenda McIntosh.  Book:  Aging and Ministry in the 21st Century by Richard H.
