License to Preach Spring 2023

LICENSING SCHOOL
The License to Preach school enables certified candidates to complete the educational requirements for being licensed for pastoral ministry.  The Spring 2023 semester will be in an online format with learning content and instruction hosted and delivered by the Candler School of Theology (Emory University). Facilitators and graders for small groups and class assignments will be from the Indiana Conference. Attendance at the onsite orientation at the University of Indianapolis and participation in online small groups during the semester is required.
 
Admission Requirements
The Division of Ordained Ministry (Nashville, TN) requires that all licensing school students be certified as a candidate for licensed or ordained ministry. For certification information, contact your Conference Superintendent and/or chair of your District Committee on Ministry (dCOM). Students are required to have access to a computer with internet that will allow watching lectures, submitting written and visual presentations, chatting online with other class members, and participating in Zoom meetings.
 
Schedule
Onsite Orientation: Saturday, February 18, 2023 – University of Indianapolis (most of the day)
Online Modules: Saturday, February 18 – Saturday, April 22
Small group conversations will be required during the semester. Dates will be dependent on students’ availability during the learning modules.
 
Tuition
No partial payments. All payments must be received on or before February 3, 2023.
– Indiana Conference students – $650/person.
*Financial assistance may be available through your conference or district.
– Non-Indiana Conference students – $725/person.
 
Refunds
Cancellations received by February 3, 2023, at 11:59 pm via email to localpastors@inumc.org will be eligible for a refund, less processing fee. After this date, there will be no refunds.
 
Attendance Policy
Attendance at all sessions and completion of all assignments is required. Absence may require withdrawal from the school.

Payment Instructions
Online payments by Visa, MasterCard or Check. Print a copy of your registration for your receipt. Check payments must be mailed within 7 days of registration.  Please include a copy of your registration with your check.
