Beginning this fall, the Northwest District Clergy Renewal team will offer an opportunity for group spiritual direction.  Ann Kline defines group spiritual direction as “a process in which people come together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God in all of life.”[i]  She describes it as a “widening of the lens” which broadens our perspective and our experience of God as we encounter God in one another.

The group will meet via Zoom once monthly and be led by Tracey Leslie, a certified spiritual director.  Format will vary month to month, utilizing a variety of practices to broaden our horizons, open our awareness to God, and deepen our sense of community with one another.  Some of the practices employed will be lectio divina, spiritual autobiography/ storytelling, examen, compassionate questions, etc.

An introductory session to explore the process will be offered from 3:00-4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9.  This will be a “stand-alone” session to give group direction a try.  Then, if interested, a closed group will form and meet once monthly September-November and January-March.  If you have questions or if you are interested in this opportunity but the date and time do not work for you, please contact Tracey directly (tracey@trinitylafayette.org).  The Zoom link is:
