Home/Hope & Grace: A Concert of Prayer

Hope & Grace: A Concert of Prayer is a gathering of both United Methodist clergy and laity from around the state of Indiana. They will be coming together to create an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit is unleashed through expressions of prayer. The event is designed to provide a small-group experience where each person can practice prayer in both familiar and new ways. It will also gather everyone together to put what they have practiced into action—praying to God and glorifying Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Musician Amy Cox will lead participants in worship, national speaker Carlos Whittaker will inspire and challenge, and Bishop Trimble will send participants out to continue the concert of prayer.

Break-out “Rehearsal” Rooms: It is necessary to pre-register for this event so that participants can select the break-out prayer rooms that they wish to attend. Below is a list of the options. Participants are encouraged to choose one that is familiar and one that may be new. There will be two 25-minute sessions. Each prayer group will have a “section leader” who will provide a biblical understanding of that type of prayer and then participants will use that prayer style to pray. When registering, participants should choose their top three choices. The choices are as follows:

  • Contemplative Prayer
  • Dance/Movement Prayer
  • Healing Prayer
  • Singing Prayer
  • Submission Prayer
  • Repentance Prayer
  • Spiritual Warfare Prayer
  • Social Justice Prayer
  • Church Revival Prayer
  • Family Prayer

Deadline to register is October 21.
