The Indiana Conference and DePauw University Joint Archives Committee proudly announces the hiring of Bethany Fiechter (FEEK-ter) as our new INUMC Archivist.
Fiechter joins the DePauw University/United Methodist Archives on July 6, 2020. Fiechter comes to DePauw from the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis, where she served as the head of Rare Books and Manuscripts for seven years. Prior to her time at the Indiana State Library, Fiechter was the archivist for manuscript and digital collections at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, for 3 years. Bethany currently serves as the president of the Society of Indiana Archivists and is actively involved with archival and historical organizations throughout the Midwest.
She received her AS in graphic design from Vincennes University (2005); BA in art history with an emphasis in religious studies from Herron School of Art, Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (2007) and MLS with a specialization in Archives and Record Management from Indiana University-Bloomington (2010).
We are excited to have someone of Bethany’s expertise, experience, knowledge and religious interests serving as our new Archivist.
