DMJ Resources for Advent

There are a lot of people who are hurting in our world for many reasons, including the injustice they are experiencing. While we are aware of many current events from the news, there are a lot of stories that continue to be untold and people who remain unheard.
When we serve and advocate, we do ministry with and not for or to our neighbors and those in the margins. We walk alongside others in the ways they request and invite us to do so.
Each church and community will have their own capacity and context that needs to be taken into consideration. Below are a few ideas you may wish to implement.
Attached is an official letter and liturgy samples from the Diversity, Missions, and Justice office on behalf of the General Board of Global Ministries’ work with the Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem.
Some churches light a candle of peace, hope, and justice weekly during worship or whenever there is a mass shooting, war, natural disaster, etc. What are other ways you will invite others to stand for justice during Advent and Christmas? Please share your ideas and photos with us here:
