PAUL CARL BURKE of Tupelo, Miss., 88, retired Elder, died Sunday, January 20, 2019, after a battle with cancer. After serving in the United States Air Force for several years, Paul answered his call to ministry by attending Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and serving congregations in Indiana and Mississippi.
A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, First United Methodist Church, Tupelo.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lataine Hollis Burke; three children, David (Laurie) Burke of Keller, Tex., Paula Hailey (Andy) Burke of Oxford, Ohio, and Richard (Kathy) Burke of Lafayette, Tenn.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
