Douglas "Doug" Loyal Wiemer, of Toledo, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at Parkcliffe Community at the age of 73. He was born on November 30, 1941, in Montour Falls, NY to Rev. Loyal and Lola (Horton) Wiemer. Doug was a retired Lt. Col. of the U.S. Army. He was an active member of Collingwood Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, a deacon and a member of the hand bell choir. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sue S.; children, David (Beth) Wiemer of Toledo, and Elizabeth (Rev. Kurt) Freeman of Wabash, IN; grandchildren Nate, Jon, Mike and Tim Wiemer and Rebekah, Josiah and Isaac Freeman. His nephew, Dan Omo also survives, as well as many other loving relatives. Visitation will be held at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Ave. (at Woodley Rd.) Monday from 4-8 p.m. A memorial funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Collingwood Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Collingwood Presbyterian Church, the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
