JOHN BENJAMIN “BENNIE” HERR, JR. of Columbia City, Ind., 97, surviving spouse of Bernice Herr (Local Pastor) and father of Rev. David Herr, a retired Elder, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014. Survivors include: children Mary Patricia (Don) Chenoweth of Harrisburg, Ill.; David (Anita) Herr of Roanoke, Ind.; Rebecca (Jim) Benson of New Albany, Ind., and Daniel Herr of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at DeMoney-Grimes, 600 Countryside Drive in Columbia City. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Columbia City United Methodist Church, 605 Forest Parkway in Columbia City.
