GEORGE JACOBS of Franklin, Ind., a retired clergyman and father-in-law of the Rev. John W. “Jack” Hartman, a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, at the Franklin United Methodist Community’s Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson Street in Franklin. Survivors include: children Carolyn Hartman (Jack Hartman), the Rev. Mark Jacobs (a UMC pastor in Illinois) and Joyce Erfert of Arizona (a former teacher at United Methodist-related McCurdy School in N. Mex.). Preceding him in death was his late wife, Dorothy, who was the sister of the late Bishop Paul Milhouse, 94, last former EUB bishop who died March 14, 2005.Condolences can be sent to the Rev.
