ELVIN L. MILLER of Fort Wayne, Ind., 91, a retired Elder in the Indiana Conference, died Saturday, April 26, 2014. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2 at the D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road in Fort Wayne. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 E. Wayne Street in Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Survivors include daughters, Cathy Kuhwede of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Carol (John) Dunfee of Morgantown, Ind.; son, Mark (Lori) Miller of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Theresa “Tracy” Miller. During his early ministry, he was pastor of churches in Jamestown and Albany, Ind. Later, he served as an associate pastor at Hennepin Avenue UMC in Minneapolis and as an Associate Director of the former North Indiana Conference Council on Ministries, retiring in 1989.
