VIRGINIA LEE (WAKEFIELD) YATES of Auburn, Ind., 83, wife of the Rev. J. Wilbur Yates, retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at the Feller/Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street in Auburn. A celebration of Virginia”s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday Jan. 2, at the First United Methodist Church, 1203 E. Seventh Street in Auburn, with visitation one hour before the service. Survivors include husband, the Rev. J. Wilbur Yates; two children, Ray A. Yates (Dawn) of Celina, Ohio and Kimberlee A. (Jason) Powell of Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren,; and two step-great-grandchildren.
