HOWARD DeWAYNE ALLEN of Lebanon, Ind., 73, retired Elder of the Indiana Conference and husband of the Rev. Betty Jane Eppert Allen also a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 910 Fordice Street in Lebanon. A time of sharing and Celebration of Life will follow in the fellowship hall. Survivors include wife Rev. Betty Eppert Allen; daughters Tammy Stuart of Lebanon, and Michelle Allen of Indianapolis; sons John Greg Allen of Brighton, Mich. and Michael AIlen of Canton, Ohio; daughter-in-law Mary Allen of Brighton, Mich.; son-in-law James Stuart of Lebanon; his mother, Violet Allen of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Allen served churches in Indiana at Pence/Judyville, Salem Chapel, Cory, Wayside, Princeton Faith, Avon, Nashville, New Castle First, Danville, Paoli and Linden, retiring in 2003.
