RALPH H. HARVEY of Naples, Fla., formerly of Mansfield and Danville, Ind., 102, United Methodist layperson and owner of 17 former Harvey’s Dime Stores and Harvey Mart in northwestern Indiana, who helped pay college tuition through scholarships of more than 80 students including numerous children of clergy, died Oct. 10, 2013. He also served as a board member of the University of Indianapolis. Survivors include two nephews, George Cox and Jimmy Howe of Mansfield. A private graveside service was held at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Ind. June 17 with the Rev. Dr. John D. Wolf officiating.
