JAMES DENNEY of Portland, Ind., 82, father of the Rev. Robert (Bob) James Denney, pastor of Swayzee United Methodist Church in the North Central District, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, 208 N. Commerce Street in Portland. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home with burial following at the Green Park Cemetery in Portland. Survivors include: wife, Louise Denney of Portland; son, Robert Denney (wife Donna) of rural Portland; daughters, Rebecca Elbendary of Clovis, Calif. and Sandra Denney of New Castle, Ind.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
