JAMES A. NICKLES of Frankfort, Ind., formerly of Elwood, 73, a retired local pastor of the Indiana Conference, died Monday, June 10, 2013. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13 with a memorial service at 5 p.m. at the St. Matthew UMC, 1951 Wilshire Drive in Frankfort. Visitation also will be held on Friday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, 415 S. Anderson Street in Elwood. Survivors include: wife, Ella M. Nickles of Frankfort; children, Tim (Ann) Nickles of Arcanum, Ohio, Amber (Coty) Robey of Frankfort and Elizabeth Nickles of Frankfort; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many foster children. He was preceded in death by three children, Martisha Parker, Anna Tarter and Earl Childs; and a grandson. He served church in Indiana at Anderson Bailey Chapel, Goldsmith, New Corydon, Mt. Carmel, Rigdon, Independence Riverview, Michigantown, Hopewell, Elwood Grace and Elwood Trinity retiring in 2008. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (designated for Melanoma of the Organs) or the St. Matthews United Methodist Church Youth Group.
