JACK McGOWAN, SR. of Kokomo, Ind., 86, father-in-law of the Rev. Kevin Marsh of Butler United UMC in Butler (Northeast District), died Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Kokomo. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street in Kokomo. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Kevin Marsh will be officiating. Survivors include two sons, Jack (Martha) McGowan, Jr. of Peru and Michael (Carol) McGowan of Kokomo; and two daughters, Sherill (Jim) Woodbury of Kokomo and Susan (Kevin) Marsh of Butler. Jack also had 38 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Burnell, and a son, Ira McGowan, who died serving in Viet Nam.
