Nunery, Charles Albert

CHARLES ALBERT NUNERY of Carmel, Ind., 93, retired Elder of the Indiana Conference and in retirement former Minister of Visitation and Deaf Ministries at St. Luke”s UMC in Indianapolis, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street in Indianapolis. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. the same day at St. Luke”s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street in Indianapolis. A private burial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Survivors include: his four children, Ruth (Mike) Allford, David (Debbie) Nunery, William (Mathieu) Nunery and Dorothy (Timothy) Juergensen, as well as 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Grace Nunery, his brother Arnold Nunery, grandson Brian Joseph Allford, great granddaughter, Aidan Sophia Hunt and granddaughter Ali Nunery. He served congregations in the Kentucky Conference from 1942 to 1967 and then served churches in Indiana from 1967 until his retirement in 1983 at Goshen First, Fort Wayne Forest Park and Decatur St. Mark”s.
