ELVERA MARTIN-ESCHE of Noblesville, Ind., 91, mother of David Martin, Indiana Conference United Methodist Men president, and surviving spouse of the late Rev. Elmer C. Martin, died Dec. 25, 2012 in Carmel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5301 S. St. Phillips Road, Evansville, IN 47712 with burial at St. Paul’s UMC Cemetery. Survivors include son, David E. (Judy) Martin of Noblesville, Ind., step-sons David (Kathy) Esche of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Kenneth Esche of Wadesville, Ind.; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, the late Rev. Elmer C. Martin (who died in 1976) and Edward Esche (who died in 1994). She and the late Rev. Martin served Indiana churches at Shiloh, Fletcher Chapel, Griffin, Newburgh, Evansville Wesley, Dale and Selvin.
