WILLIAM S. “BILL” OFFUTT of Franklin, Ind., 97, a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at the Franklin United Methodist Community. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street in Franklin, with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Military rites will be presented by the Franklin Honor Guard. Following the memorial service, a reception will be conducted in the Fellowship Hall at the Franklin United Methodist Community for friends and family. Survivors include daughter, Judie Lahr of Columbus; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Lou (Day) Offutt; one son, David S. Offutt; and one grandson. Memorial contributions can be made to the Benevolent Fund of the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, IN 46131. Offutt served churches in Indiana at Freelandville, Bruceville, Washington Christ, Carrollton, Bright, Glenwood and Spiceland, retiring in 1983.
