B. WILLIS GIERHART of Indianapolis, a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference and father-in-law of the Rev. James M. Evans, Jr., pastor of Crescent Avenue UMC in Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 12 at 3 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, 5252 W. 52nd Street, Indianapolis, Ind. Following the service, there will be a reception so that the family might greet those who had come for the celebration. Condolences may be sent to his wife Dorothy (Dottie) Gierhart, 5458 Younkin Drive, Indianapolis IN 46268 and the Rev. James M. Evans, Jr., 1232 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805-4319. Dr. Gierhart served Indiana churches at Howe Parish, Monroe, Muncie Gethsemane, and Hammond First. He also served as Superintendent of the Elkhart and Fort Wayne Districts of the former North Indiana Conference.
