LAURA D. SCHAAR of Evansville, 86, mother of the Rev. Gary M Schaar, senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ind., died Sunday, March 11, 2012. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville, Ind. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Mitch Gieselman, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include: sons, Gary (Joyce) Schaar, of Columbus, Ind., and Barry (Gina) Schaar, of Evansville; and four grandchildren.
