RAYMOND A. SHELTON of Washington, Ind., 88, retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, father of the Rev. Rodney Shelton, pastor of Hursttown UMC near Corydon in the South District and grandfather of the Rev. Michael R. Shelton, pastor of Baker Chapel UMC near Boonville, Ind. in the Southeast District, died Saturday, Feb. 11. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at Gill Chapel, 308 East Walnut Street in Washington and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Christ United Methodist Church, 104 N. Meridian Street in Washington, with the Rev. Lennie Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township. Survivors include his wife, Della (Allen) Shelton; a daughter, Carolyn Crafton of Indianapolis; sons, Larry (Barbara) Shelton of Hatfield, Billy (Lori) Shelton of Phoenix, Ariz., Rick (Annetta) Shelton of Merrillville, and Rodney (Teresa) Shelton of English; 11 grandchildren including the Rev. Michael Ray (Cynthia) Shelton of Rockport, Ind.; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
