EDWIN MAX CASE, a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at his home in Carmel. Visitation will be from 2 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 in the parlor of North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. Meridian Street (at 38th Street) in Indianapolis. A memorial service will follow the same day at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. Survivors include: his wife, Ann Hutchins-Case and sons, Michael and Marcus. To send condolences to the family, please call the church office at 317-924-2612 for the address. Case began his ministry as a youth minister in New Providence, N.J. He was ordained an Elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference in 1965 and served First UMC in Seattle, Wash. as an associate pastor and as pastor of Everett View Ridge. In 1971 he moved to Indianapolis and joined the staff of Christian Theological Seminary. In following positions, he served as Administrative Director of the Center for Exploration of Meaning and Values, on the staff of Brebeuf Preparatory School and on the staff of the University of Indianapolis. His conference membership was transferred to the former South Indiana Conference in 1987 and from then until his retirement in 2001, he served as Executive Director of the Indiana Office for Campus Ministry also in Indianapolis.
