J.C. WILLIAMS of Muncie, Ind., 93, retired clergy member of the Indiana Conference and noted African-American civil rights leader, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011. A time of sharing and fellowship will be held Friday, March 30 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1110 South Hackley Street in Muncie. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31 at High Street United Methodist Church, 219 S. High Street in Muncie with the Rev. J.C. Williams, Jr. officiating and Indiana Bishop Mike Coyner giving an eulogy. He is survived by sons, Charles (Chicago), James (Fort Wayne, IN), the Rev. Dr. Jacob, Jr. (Valparaiso, IN); daughters, Anna Hayden of Gary, Alice of Muncie; and many grandchildren.
