DONALD L. RUHL, SR. of Winona Lake, Ind., 82, retired Elder of the Indiana Conference died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road in Logansport and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at Main Street United Methodist Church, 19 E. Main Street in Logansport, with the Revs. Tom DeFries and Keith Schreffler officiating. Burial will be at Newville Cemetery, approximately 8 miles east of Auburn, Ind., on SR 8, at approximately 4:30 p.m. EDT. Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (Washler) Ruhl; four sons: M. John (Linda) Ruhl of Rockford, Ill., Donald Ruhl, Jr., of Logansport, Benjamin Max (Deb) Ruhl of Clarklake, Mich. and Timothy Louis (Bobbie) Ruhl of Stuart, Fla., and one daughter, Jane Ann (John) Goodrich of Logansport; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He served churches in Indiana at Avilla, Teegarden, Tabor Ct., Nappanee, Whiting Lakeside, Logansport Main Street, Rensselaer and Auburn. Note for those going to the Fisher Funeral Home in Logansport: Chase Road is closed for the four blocks west of the funeral home. Visitors can access the funeral home by the Smith Street entrance just two blocks south of Chase Road if coming from the north or the west. Chase Road is open as usual east of the funeral home.
