VERCOE JONES, 89, father of the Rev. Karen Ottjes of Thorntown UMC, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. The celebration of his life will be on Friday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. at The Meetinghouse room of the Greencroft Health Care Center, 1721 Greencroft Blvd. in Goshen, Ind., with visitation from noon to3 p.m. He is survived by his second wife, Berdean (Oswald) Jones, three children: Karen (Jim) Ottjes of Thorntown, Dianne (Bob) Mason of Wake Forest, N.C.; and Karl (Jane) Jones of Spencerport, N.Y.; three step-children: Sharon (Gary) Schweitzer of Sedalia, Mo.; Virginia Yoder of Middlebury and Lynn (Wanda) Oswald of Topeka; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His first wife, Atheleen (Bandelier) Jones died in December 2001. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Goshen St. Mark”s UMC, 502 N.
