WILLIAM R. ARMSTRONG, 73, of Lafayette, father of the Rev. Kevin Armstrong, senior pastor of North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in Lafayette following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hippensteel Tribute Center, 2529 Schuyler Avenue at the intersection of Highways 52 and 25 in Lafayette, Ind. A memorial service is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15 at Bethel United Methodist Church (South Campus), 1804 Woodlawn Drive in Washington, Ind. (visitation one hour before the service) with the Rev. Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial to follow at the Bethel United Church Cemetery in Washington. Survivors include: his wife Joann C. (Spinn) Armstong; son, Kevin R. Armstrong (Nancy) of Indianapolis; and granddaughter, Jenna Smith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Jean Armstrong.
