ELVA MAY (COOPER) GRACE, 101, surviving spouse of the late Rev. Chester Grace, former clergy member of the Indiana Conference, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Anderson, Ind. A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, May 3, at the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Mark Helm. A private graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis. She was a member of St. Matthew UMC in Anderson. Survivors include: her son, Carl M. (wife, Loretta) Grace of Modesto, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Carol Grace of Anderson; six grandchildren, Perry L. (wife, Brenda) Grace of Pink Hill, N.C., Misty J. (husband, Tige) Chastain and Amanda M. Grace, both of Anderson, Eric R. (wife, Heather) James of Katy, Texas, Erin R. James (Gary Lapuyade) of Houston, Texas, and Randy Clayton of Maryville, Tenn.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jaryd Grace, Jason Grace, Michayla Grace, Noah Green, Gavin Green, Madeline Triola, Sophia Triola, Reagan James, Aidan Lapuyade and Audrey Lapuyade. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Chester Grace; son, George Grace; and a granddaughter, Shelley Clayton.
