LUCY (BJORAB) SURBER, 89, of Fort Wayne, widow of the late Rev. Herman E. Surber, deceased clergy member of the Indiana Conference, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. She assisted her husband in his ministry in United Methodist churches at Marion, Elkhart, Alto, Gaston, Muncie and Kokomo. Visitation will be at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco from 2 to 8 p. m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, or at the church one hour prior to the service. A memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. on Monday, Jan.10, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam Street in Fort Wayne with the Revs. Matthew Leffler, Sr. and Robert Dexter officiating. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery in Allen County. Survivors include: her daughter Suzanne K. Surber of Fort Wayne; her sister Mary Bojrab of Fort Wayne; two brothers Norman Bojrab, Sr. and George (Gloria) Bojrab, both of Fort Wayne. She was preceded her in death by her son Steven C. Surber on May 8, 1992 and by her husband on Dec. 11, 2001. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46808.
