Ruth Margaret (Peggy) Townsend of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Logansport, Ind., 84, wife of the late Rev. Lowell Townsend, deceased Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010. She was a member of the Bearden United Methodist Church in Knoxville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tenn. with the Rev. Michael G. Sluder officiating. Visitation will be the same day from 10 to 11 a.m. at Heritage Chapel. Burial will be later at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Ind. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Linda Townsend; daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Larry Konk; grandchildren, Lara Linsner, Whitney Linsner, David Townsend, Bethany Townsend, Susannah (Brian) Finley; Jacob (Catherine) Townsend and great-granddaughter, Olivia Finley.
