ERNEST HAYDEN, 98, of Greencastle, a retired Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Asbury Towers in Greencastle. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, 602 East Washington Street in Greencastle. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating and burial at the Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Survivors include: daughter, Judith Ann Tomey of Washington; sons Gerald Lee Hayden of Washington and John Hayden of Winslow; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Berneice Boes Hayden in 1976 and his second wife Gretchen Ellis Hayden in 2006.
