LEON EDWARD ELLIS, 79, father of the Rev. Steve Ellis, pastor of the Lighthouse UMC in Elizabeth, Ind. (former SIC), died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 W US Highway 40 in Greenfield on Thursday, Oct. 15 with calling from 9 a.m. to noon and burial at Washington Park East, 10612 E. Washington Street in Indianapolis. Survivors include: his wife, Linn J. Ellis of Greenfield; sons, the Rev. Stephen E. Ellis of Elizabeth, and Kelly M. Ellis of Hillsborough, N.J.; brother, Kenneth Ellis of Keedysville, Md.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
