Ways for Clergy Spouses to Pray

Thank you Lord, that Your Spirit rests upon my husband/wife, the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:2-3)

God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Glorious Father give my love the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that he/she may know You better.” (Ephesians 1:17)

Almighty God, cover my spouse with the full armor of God. Put the sturdy belt of truth on ____________________________. Give him/her the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy, the helmet of salvation, and Your precious Word, which is the sword of the Spirit. Stir in him/her the need to pray on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 6:13-18)

Lord, give my husband/wife discernment to prioritize what is most important. Protect him/her from busyness, fatigue, and an over burdened schedule. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-17)

Sweet Lord, protect my beloved. Let nothing hinder his/her time with You. (Mark 1:35)

Holy One, I pray for Your good and perfect will to be accomplished in our family. May we glorify You in all we do. (Proverbs 19:21)

Gracious God, may my spouse boast only about the cross of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 6:14)

Precious Lord, do not let my beloved’s heart be troubled or afraid. Let Your peace guard his/her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

God of our Lord Jesus Christ, give my beloved the gift of faith. Let faith rise up in him/her as he/she meditates on Your word. (Hebrews 11:6)
