“Wisdom and Discernment are Sought for Conference Decisions”

One of the goals of the 2015 Indiana United Methodist Annual Conference is:

“Prepare people before the conference to enable decision-making and
effective participation through well-communicated processes and information.”

Multiple decisions must be decided at Annual Conference this year that will affect the growth or decline of our United Methodist denomination. Pray and seek the heart of God as you reflect on the scriptures, the living Word of God. Remember the leading of John Wesley as he founded this denomination on solid Biblical principle.

Another Conference Goal for us to prayerfully reflect upon:

“Elect delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conference through Christian Conferencing
that results in a diverse but united representation of the Indiana Conference.”

“October 6, 1774

I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them

  1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy
  2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against, and
  3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side.”

– John Wesley, The Journal of John Wesley

Ask for Holy Spirit boldness to speak the truth through the Word of God. Prepare to vote from the Wisdom of God, the Heart of Jesus, through the connecting power of the Holy Spirit. Instill in others that the story of the United Methodist Church was founded on strong biblical principles.

When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities,
do not worry about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say;
for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say.

– Luke 12:11-12 NRSV

Prayer

Oh Wise and Sovereign God, I am seeking Godly wisdom for the decisions You want me to make which will enhance the Methodist Movement, which proclaims Jehovah as the God above all gods, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, and the Holy Spirit, our great Companion. We proclaim unity in the leadership so the Trinity can work through us to bring hurting souls to their salvation in Jesus Christ. Renew, reunite, and restore us to unify our efforts to evangelize souls, not fight doctrinal wars. We praise you for peaceful agreements, in the Holy name of Jesus. Amen.
