Course of Study (COS)
An Extension School of Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary
The Indiana Conference Extension Course of Study School is a non-residential United Methodist School (for part-time local pastors only) offering the approved curriculum of the Division of Ordained Ministry of the United Methodist Church.
All classes are held at the University of Indianapolis, 1400 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis.
The fall term meets one week-end in each of the months of September, October and November. Dates for the fall 2011 terms are Sep. 9 and 10; Oct. 8; and Nov. 12. The spring terms meets one week-end in each of the months of January, March and April. Dates for the 2012 Spring term are January 27 and 28; March 10; and April 14. Residential Course of Study classes may be taken at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Methodist Theological Seminary in Ohio or any of the other United Methodist Seminaries offering Course of Study. Classes are open to both full and part-time local pastors.
Applicants must complete the License to Preach School and be under appointment before beginning the Course of Study.
Please note that registration forms must include the signatures of the student’s District Superintendent and the Associate Director of Clergy Services.
