Meet Rev. Brian Durand

I grew up in a small town called Palmyra in the Northeast corner of Missouri, where we attended Palmyra UMC, a small county seat church. I moved to Indianapolis in 1995 for my first job out of college, and I served as Pastor for Youth Ministries at St. Luke’s UMC in Indianapolis for nine years prior to my position with the Conference.

 

I’m married to the love of my life, Cheryl, who I met while we both served as youth ministry volunteers. We have two young children, Noah and and Ella. 

 

My personal mission is to support our local churches and campus ministries in recruiting, equipping, connecting, and inspiring young, Spirit-filled church leaders who will revitalize our church. My role with the Conference is to foster connection and share resources to improve our ministry with youth, young adults, and college students throughout the Conference.

 

Sort of, but no! I am a guy, and I like to think of myself as still in my youth, however, as much as I love ministry with young people and have learned a few things along the way, YOU in our local churches who are working week in and week out with our young people are the experts in your own community culture - let us work together to best serve your youth needs!
