The current lead pastor at Clay Church, the Rev. Herb Buwalda, Jr., plans to retire July 1.

Upon the announcement of this appointment, Coyner said, “Brian has demonstrated his leadership skills in our Indiana Conference and is one of the most respected clergy in the Conference. While I am sorry to lose his leadership on the conference staff, I know that he will be a blessing to the Clay United Methodist Church in South Bend.”
