INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Conference Clergy Spouse Retreat will be held the weekend of Sept. 20-22 at the Holiday Inn Indianapolis North (just west of the Indiana Conference Center on Pennsylvania Parkway north of the I-465 at the Meridian Street Exit 31).
The theme is “Recovering Joy.” Together with Marilyn Elliot, participants will listen to the invitation from God to know oneself as the beloved and live in freedom and gentleness. Elliot is Vice President of Community Formation at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., where she also teaches in the Spiritual Formation degree program. One can follow her writings on her blog: kyammatalk.blogspot.com.
The retreat will include time for fun, food, discussion and fellowship, and we will end the weekend with a final worship time together. The planners hope and pray that they have been able to create a weekend for spouses to be with fellow spouses in Christian fellowship and relaxation.
All clergy spouses of every age and gender and in every stage of ministry are invited to attend this weekend retreat. Churches, please consider sponsoring your clergy spouse’s registration fee. This is a time of worship and fellowship with clergy spouses from all over the state. Online registration is available. Go to www.inumc.org click on Calendar, go to Sept. 20 and click on Event.
