This day-long ERT training will be hosted by the United Methodist Men of Sullivan County Saturday, Aug. 3. The training location will be at the Sullivan First United Methodist Church located at 105 N. Broad Street in Sullivan, IN 47882.

The mission of an Early Response Team (ERT) is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of a disaster. ER Teams are trained primarily to respond in their own communities although they may be invited to assist in areas in their region, the United States or internationally. The teams fill a specific need in the early days after a disaster to establish the presence of the church.

This class aims to equip persons with the skills and information to make appropriate responses to any relief situation. Are you prepared to respond to a natural or man-caused disaster in your community?

Attend this training led by Rev. Jim Byerly, an United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) training volunteer leader, to learn the Who, What, When, Why and How of ERT.

Registration and check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. with class starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. Cost for the ERT Training is $40 per person. Please contact Michael Irvine for information and registration by email at mike.irvine@inumc.org.
