CHATHAM, Ill. – The Rev. Dan Stone, a retired pastor, and a member of Plainfield UMC and the Rev. David Powell, pastor of Danville UMC, both members from Indiana of the Board of Directors for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, took a truck load of cleaning buckets to the MMDC as they attended the regular board meeting Nov 2. At the distribution center, they found thousands of cleaning buckets being readied to send to the east coast to assist hurricane survivors clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. These cleaning buckets will join relief supplies sent from other United Methodist Committee on Relief Depots to help meet the need for thousands of families.
