MOUNT KATAHDIN, Maine – He’s finished! Hoosier United Methodist Roger Summers (SOS) has completed his 2,181-mile-hike on the Appalachian Trail to raise support for The Right Future Campaign of the Indiana Conference Camping Ministry. Sept. 25 marked the final day of his journey, just 200 days after he began that journey this past spring.

Review Roger and his wife Judy’s Trail Journals titled “SOS’ 2012 Appalachian Trail Journal” online at trailjournals.com and search last name “Summers” to see photos and read about this incredible trek.

Summers is a member of Fort Wayne Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He is seen here on top of Katahdin Mountain in Maine the moment he completed the trail.

A total of $36,477 in gifts was raised from 75 donors for “Hiking for HIM” in support of The Right Future Impact 2812 Campaign. The goal of the campaign is to reach an additional 2,000 youth for Christ each summer at Epworth Forest Conference Center in North Webster, Ind., by raising funds toward the $758,000 needed to build the third Waterfront Lodge.
